Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. Her other credits include her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. Her upbringing was within a household which included four brothers. As a child she longed to be an official in the courtroom. But after she graduated from high school and moving into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of TV movies, film and dramatics since then. Similar to her profession, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. She has been in the past talented actress struggled to overcome the effects of alcohol and two marriages fail. In 2005 her custody was confiscated from her.
