Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial arts artist, and is a competitor at the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of the fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fighting sporting career by becoming a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko did well in the competition and defeated Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an unanimity. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008, and an award of gold in the year 2011. She was also crowned IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in 2016. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in 2003. She took home the WKC K-1 World Light Welterweight Championships in 2012, the Lightweight Lion Fight World Championships in 2016, as well as the WMC World Championships as well as Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina was a part of Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas' fight during her final match at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a the unanimous verdict. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight in 2002, against Anara bayanova during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won the second-round TKO fight. She also won the following two bouts at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was a 3-0 record. Shevchenko had a short break from MMA so that she could focus on boxing. She returned in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui's fight in a unified decision. She defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in the same decision. She quit the promotion and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's superior strike skills enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received an UFC deal. Antonina received her a UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi by a split-decision fight, after winning her first bout by unanimous decision. Antonina came back from losing through defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. She was awarded the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner in her next 3-fights, losing to Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
