Much like of a brilliant and friendly star is lost far too early the tragic loss of her life shattered her growing profile. Many mourned all of the potential that was not fully realized. The tragic death by shooting of Tejano singer Selena caused a resurgence within the Latino community that could be thought of as similar to the responses to the deaths of Elvis Presley and John Lennon. A hugely popular Latino artist across North America, Selena's music has touched many lives across cultures. Selena is a flamboyant sexually attractive performer who is sometimes described as Latina Madonna. However, she's a respected role model because off stage Selena has an amiable and family-focused attitude. She also actively is involved in anti-drug campaigns.
